I’ll be moving to the area in July and would love to find a good-sized one bedroom (larger than 700 sq. ft.) in the $1100-$1400 range (utilities included would be fantastic, naturally). Close to the Metro would be ideal, and preferably in a safe neighborhood with other young professionals nearby (I know, I know–why don’t I just ask for a rich uncle to kick off in the process, right?). Thanks!!

for that price you might need to go a bit further south to f’burg. there is a new neighborhood being built as we speak (by hunter greenlaw – who is FABULOUS). i believe it is called cobblestone square. within walking distance to the train station (about an hour to get to d.c. – time enough to get some work done before work) and a super area to meet people.
this neighborhood is being built in my brother’s back yard and he says it is GORGEOUS! f’burg is a great area with helpful , neighborly, neighbors. you really can’t beat it. it’s close enough to the city to work and enjoy their nightlife and far enough away to feel safe. the beach and mountains are less than an hour away. you can even go strawberry picking 10 minutes (or less) away!
and just think, if you get married (or not) and have kids in the next couple of years you can buy my house that is within 1 mile of where the child would go to school from k-12; within 1 mile of grocery store and shopping; in SAFE (and pretty ) neighborhood , and we have the largest lot in here (about 1/2 wooded so you can’t see the houses in back in the summer).
I LOVE THIS AREA – but i want to be at the BEACH.

The apartment complex has a parking lot and I have a sticker for that. Do I need a city sticker also? If I have an overnight visitor for several days, where could they park?

i’d say you need a city sticker. ask your landlord of the apartment building if there are any unrented apartments, and park in that space. keep checking with the landlord though you don’t want to park in someone elses spot.

Does anyone live here or know someone who lives here? Looking for apartments in the area…any advice would be great!

They are located in an excellent neighborhood adjacent to Ft. Myer and residential neighborhoods. By car, one is near restaurants, Metro and nightlife and DC is 5 minutes away when there’s no traffic.

I heard the that apartments were the latriums on the creek apartments

It was on the 18th. L’Atrium on the Creek apartments on Carter Drive near East Park Row Drive.

I have a 10 year old felony and I am tryin to find a place.

I would suppose that it would depend on the felony.
Some apartment complexes might be a bit more agreeable to you being an ‘enron’ felon as opposed to the murdering type.

Need to rent apartment as soon as possible

could try sublet.com, rent.com (has a roommate section), or the biggies if you have reasonable $ – check out websites for the larger apartment management companies (see links in source list.) The Rosslyn/Arlington properties will be listed on their sites. If you have contacts at any of the local universities, a good place to look for affordable, student/intern type rentals are the off-campus housing listings, which are accessible online if you can access their sites. Craigslist is also a good source (link below).

The following are listed on Georgetown University’s off-campus housing listing (link below):

Grand Prairie as well…looking for 600 or under a month 1 bedroom Thanks

arlington?

Im moving to Dallas soon for a job in Arlington, and I was hoping to get some information on what the better areas of Dallas are to find apartments. Unfortunately its just me and stilll a bit outside my price range to get a house. I know that the north side of dallas is suppose to be nicer, but I’ll be working in the Arlington area and dont necessarily want a long commute. Any advice and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Well.. Arlington is not my favorite part.. I just don’t care for Euless and those places. I would pick Grapevine or Southlake. Southlake is fairly well-to-do though so apartments would be rather expensive. Grapevine has the AMC theater and a huge huge outlet mall and also a fairly established downtown.

I wouldn’t go near Irving or Carrollton. There’s nothing great around there and rather crowded imo. Richardson has a lot of restaurants… I suppose that may be a plus.

Highland Park is really really really rich and University Park is near SMU college.

This area is awesome. It’s so walkable which is rare for Dallas.

Of course I can’t afford to live in these areas:)
If you want a town with two colleges and great live music (like Austin used to have) come to Denton! I used to rent a box of an apartment all bills paid for 390 though. Not too bad eh?

I treid to google; however, all my google result are showing me expensive apartments..

Unfortunately housing is quite expensive in Arlington, as you just discovered. There are very few "cheap" apartments, and those are mostly set aside for low-income families who have rent vouchers.

As suggested, you might find something less expensive including apartments and houses to share, using CRAIGSLIST.
