Planning on getting away from Cali and going to move to dallas texas(fort worth, arlington, downtown dallas area)…we have about 10k saved….we are moving without a job and place to stay….i dont think it will be long until we find a job but for now does anyone know of longer term motels? maybe like week to week? how much would they be? we would rather get a apartment but without jobs i dont think that would be possible or?
I believe a friend of mine lived in these apartments. http://www.windscapeapts.net/ They were real cheap. $425 for a 1 bedroom per month. If it isn’t them it is one of the ones off of Mayfield. Neighborhood seemed alright.
The other suggestion is Motel 6 has the studio Hotel off of I-35. I believe there is a kitchen in every room. $32 to $40 a night. http://www.motel6.com/reservations/motel_detail.aspx?num=6035&VID=&NOA=&aYr=&aMo=&aDa=&dYr=&dMo=&dDa=&CP=&TA=&BTR=/AccorMaps/M6ProximityResults.aspx?searchtype=C

2 hotels that offer long term pricing are "Homestead Studio Suites" and "Extended Stay America". You’ll find several locations in both Dallas & Ft Worth, but I don’t have a clue about the cost.
I realize things are awful in California right now, but it has really slowed down here too, so don’t be too optimistic about finding a job quickly unless you have a degree or trade that’s in high demand. It seems 1/2 the people in California are moving to Dallas.
