Can some provide some insight about arlington texas. How good is this places from a residential perspective. Area there any good schools around the area. What areas should one considers for renting
At one time the Arlington police chief was the highest paid police chief in the state of Texas. This was because of the high crime in Arlington. I don’t think it’s a good place for a family. There are better places to live.

I live in a Dallas suburb right next to Arlington — in fact I’m about 3 blocks from Arlington city limits. Frankly I don’t think it’s that great a place. I know I wouldn’t want to live there. The schools are OK — not bad but not great. The nicer houses are in far south Arlington. I’m not familiar with the apartments. You could certainly find a better location to move to. If you want to stay in the southern part of the Metroplex look at Mansfield, Grand Prairie or Cedar Hill.
