I am planning on going to Virginia State University fall 2010 semester. I was just wondering if I live there for a year on off campus housing, will I be considered a Virginia resident, or will they decide from my mothers residency?

Why not call or write the school and find out what the residency requirement is for in-state tuition for Virginia? Each state is a little different in its requirements. Simply living in off-campus housing is not going to count, you need to establish residency by paying taxes, licensing a car, getting a driver’s license, registering to vote, or other things that cause you to be a "permanent" resident of the state. Usually you have to live in a place for a period of time, and many universities will not consider you a resident of the state for tuition purposes unless you live there for that period of time BEFORE you start school there and then you have to prove that you’ve lived there by showing some kind of documentation (voter registration card, etc.).

Again, check with your state of choice and find out what the legal requirements are so that you can do this right the first time. You DON’T want to try to "fudge" on this, because it will come back and bite you later on.

Good luck!

Wife and i been married for 7+ years and were virgins when we married. No other partners. Always wash properly before and after.
Can anyone clarify the risks?

It is not advisable to do this. Safe sex educators warn that the vaginal fluids of a woman who is infected with HIV or other STDs can transmit the disease, even in the absence of direct penile-vaginal sexual intercourse, so direct contact is discouraged. Such infections in Vagina may take place due to uncleanliness over a period and even the lady was a vergin before the sex.

Women’s risk of HIV infection is largely influenced by biological, social and economic factors. Certain sexual practices, such as the use of vaginal drying agents, may also increase women’s HIV risk when these practices result in genital irritation and inflammation. This dryness and drying agents may also increase the possibilities of infection. So it is better to avoid this act-

If you lived and worked in NY but then move to Virgina (will be commuting from VA to DC) because your job transfered you to Washington D.C., do you pay income taxes?

DC is actually forbidden by federal law from having a non-resident income tax. Since it’s not a state, it doesn’t get many of the privileges that go with statehood.

You will pay VA income tax once you move to VA on the income you earn in DC.

Some people say if you’re not Virgina’s resident don’t need to pay it. Is that possible?

find out what you owe,and send them the money. thats the best way. if you plan on never going back there, you may get away with it. but,if you don’t pay,and go back there, theyll have a warrant out for you. then it will cost you more. also, you could be stopped in new york and when they run you, they find out you have a warrant in va. they’ll run you in. (if va.wants you.) best thing is,just send them the money.

Can you recycle aluminum cans in Virgina? If so, how much can you get for recycling a pound of cans?

yes you can. right now they are paying .55 cents for a lb of aluminum cans.

I understand some people deep their Virgina in salt water three times a day. I dont know for how many hours this is supposed to be and how much salt to put in a litre of water. Should the water be warm. I would wish for better advice on this as it means a wound in a bacteria prone zone and likely to cause infection and possible opening of the wound. How long should I wait before engaging in sex after birth.

I feel for you. I had to be cut and stitched the first time I gave brith, too. I felt like I was tearing open afterward!!

The hospital should have given you a water bottle to rinse yourself after you go to the bathroom. If he didn’t, try to get one from the doctor’s office or hospital or use a bulb syringe. Just rinse with warm water, no soap. Then pat dry with toilet paper, DO NOT wipe yourself. AVOID soaking or sitting in the bath becuase the water can cause infection.

Wash yourself in the shower with soap and water, but be gentle.

For the pain you can use tucks pads (made for hemmoroids). Put the pad on yourself inside your panties. And get some Dermoplast or other pain-releiving, antibacterial spray. It’s made for cuts and burns, but it is a lifesaver in this situation. I was advised not to use it too often, though, because your body can lose it’s sensitivity to it and it won’t work as well.

Wait six weeks to have sex, or until your doc tells you it’s ok, whichever comes first.

Good luck to you. Congratulations. Look forward to the next day because everyday it will hurt a little less.

I asked a previous question, where in the US in the best place to live? I want a homey place, and where I can enjoy all season’s. I’m in love with nature and I want somewhere I can enjoy snow in the Winter, rain and warmth in the Spring, hot in the Summer and cold in the Fall. The place I am looking for is to raise a family. People have said West Virgina and Ohio. Where is the best place to live there? Can anyone give me examples of cities? Also, someone said North Texas and the city of Ennis. I’m going to look into that and does anyone have any other recommendation’s? States, with cities? Thank you so much! I appreciate it GREATLY. :)

Hi Native Ohio-an here. I grew up in northeast Ohio and love it here! I live in a small town called Chesterland, Ohio (Geauga County). Chesterland is in the "snowbelt of Ohio" which means that anything east of Cleveland and north of Youngstown gets hit with snow pretty hard, sometimes as much as 5-8 feet in a storm (probably 2-4 major storms a winter), that is the downfall. Don’t let the snow scare you off to bad because our road crews are on top of the snow..probably the best in the country. I’m 34 and have never been in a snow related accident nor has any of my family members..you just take it easy thats all! They call of school pretty quick when its bad too.

The best part about where I live is Lake Erie..awesome! My hubby and I took our kids to the lake today for a picnic..beautiful! You can do anything on Lake Erie…fishing, jetskying, boating, etc., much better than the ocean! No salt, no big things that are gonna eat you either, lol. Our school systems (throughout Geauga County) are great as well. My cousin moved back here from Florida because she said it is the best place on earth to raise a family. Near Cleveland there is a TON of things to do! Check out the different Cleveland websites or come a visit!

I personally like living where I know theres going to be snow Christmas morning and where I can watch the fall leaves and the spring flowers bloom! There are so many family things to do here, its wonderful! I attached a web address to Ohio’s report cards..you can look up any school district to see how good it is. We are in West Geauga if you want to see mine. Good Luck and if you want to know more email me at wickedness_one@yahoo.com

I learned that if you plan on taking a course out of state that a college in your state doesn’t offer, you don’t have to pay out of state tuition. I would LOVE to go to school in West Virgina.

The program you’re talking about is called the Academic Common Market. It allows students in certain southeastern states to pay in-state tuition rates at schools in the other participating states — but only for certain programs. Each state decides which programs it will allow its residents to participate in outside the state. It appears that North Carolina only allows its residents to participate for graduate level programs in other states. Here’s more information:
